Matthue Cotton, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Sain Beneic’s (NJ) High School, announced his commitment to Yale on Monday via Twitter.

“I am very grateful for my family for always supporting me and all of the people who have helped me throughout the college process,” said Cotton in a statement released via Twitter. “Finally, thank you to all of the schools that have recruited me. I am excited to announce that upon admission I will be furthering my education as a student-athlete at Yale University. 🐶 #GoBullDogs.”

According to 247Sports, Cotton is ranked as the No. 292 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 9 player from the state of New Jersey. He joins Isaiah Kelly as the second commit in the Bulldogs 2018 class.

Cotton chose Yale over schools such as Miami, Columbia, UMass, Oklahoma State, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. Bonaventure, Temple, Tulane, VCU, and Virginia Tech, among others. He took an unofficial visit to Harvard earlier this year (Aug. 6).  Cotton first received an offer from Yale on July 14.

Yale is also in the running for 2018 guard Trey Wertz, who told D1VISION last month that he hopes to commit in early November.
