Xavier Lands 2018 Three-Star Dontarius James

Dontarius James, a 6-foot-7 small forward from Huntington (WV) Prep announced his commitment Sunday to Xavier via Twitter.

“I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches for supporting me in everything I do in life!,” James released in a statement. “They’ve never gave up on me and always kept me on the right track and they’re the best support system I can have!.”

According to 247Sports, James is the No. 414 overall player for the Class of 2018 and the No. 95 small forward. James took official visits to South Alabama (Oct. 28th) and Xavier (Nov. 10th). He also held offers from schools such as Kansas, TCU, and Butler amongst others.

“But it’s been a long journey in the recruiting process and I want to thank every coach that has took the time out to recruit me and so, the family and I have come to a conclusion that I will continue my education and basketball career at Xavier University!”

James joins three-star shooting guard Keonte Kennedy, who signed his national letter of intent on November 8th, the first day of the early signing period and three-star center Jake Walter for Xavier’s 2018 recruiting class.

James is coming off an impressive 22 point performance against Hargrave Military (VA) Academy on Thursday.
