2020 Forward Xavier Foster Sets Iowa Visit; Talks Recruiting

Xavier Foster Recruiting

Xavier Foster, the 6-foot-9 power forward from Oskaloosa (IA) High School, told D1Vision on Tuesday that he will visit Iowa this weekend for an unofficial visit (Nov. 11).

“I like the coaches and their facilities,” he said about the Hawkeyes. “It’s really the same for all the colleges. I haven’t met a bad coach yet.”

Foster also mentioned Iowa among the three schools recruiting him the hardest, with Iowa State and Creighton being the other two. He broke down his thoughts on both Iowa State and Creighton:

Iowa State: “The fan base is amazing. My unofficial visit (Oct. 14) was good, I got there and a fan threw beer on me. It was great.”

Creighton: “I like how it’s a really private school, and I also like their play style.”

Iowa State will have 2018 prospects Zion Griffin and George Conditt sign their National Letters of Intent this week, while Joe Wieskamp will sign with Iowa.

Since he’s only a sophomore in high school, Foster isn’t too worried about what he’s looking for in a school, as he said, “I’m not sure yet. I think it’s just more a feeling.”

According to 247Sports, Foster is ranked as the No. 58 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 1 player from the state of Iowa. Although coaches can’t reach out yet, he said that he’s hoping to receive offers from Kansas, North Carolina, and Baylor in the future.

“I don’t really know much about them, but I like to watch them play,” Foster said about UNC and Baylor. Earlier this year (Sept. 30), Foster visited Kansas for Late Night in the Phog.

“The place is crazy,” Foster said about his Kansas visit. “I also like the love the fans show.”
