Villanova Lands Four-Star Forward Cole Swider

Cole Swider, the 6-foot-7 small forward from St. Andrews (RI) School, announced his commitment to Villanova on Friday at Sage Gym at St. Andrews School.

“I want to announce that I will be attending Villanova University.” said Swider in at Sage Gym Friday.

According to 247Sports, Swider is ranked as the No. 92 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 1 player from the state of Rhode Island. He joins Brandon Slater as the second commit in Villanova’s 2018 class, giving them the No. () ranked recruiting class.

Before choosing Villanova, Swider took officials to the three other schools included in his final four: Syracuse (June 18), Duke (June 23), and Xavier (June 26). He did not take an official to Villanova.

Playing with Team BABC on the Nike EYBL Circuit, Swider has averaged 19.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 0.7 assists per game, through 16 games. Through the first four sessions, Team BABC finished with a 10-6 record and will participate in Peach Jam next month.
