Vincent Williams, the 6-foot-5 small forward from St. John’s Jesuit (OH) High School and Academy, announced his commitment to VCU on Wednesday via Twitter. Williams took his first and only official visit to VCU last weekend (Sept. 29).

“I would like to thank every University that has recruited me over these last three years and believing in me from the beginning,” said Williams in a statement released via Twitter. ““I would like to announce my commitment to Virginia Commonwealth University. 🐑❗️❗️ I believe that the staff, Coach [Mike] Rhoades, and VCU is the best place for me and suits my goals for not only my college career but also in the time to come! Go Rams!”

According to 247Sports, Williams is ranked as the No. 421 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 18 player from the state of Ohio. He joins PJ Byrd, Corey Douglas, and KeShawn Curry as the fourth commit in Rams 2018 class. Williams is the second commit for the Rams this week as Curry announced his commitment to VCU on Monday.

Williams chose VCU over his top six of Toledo, Wichita State, Richmond, Akron, and Duquesne. Playing with All Ohio Red on the Nike EYBL Circuit this past summer, Williams averaged 12.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, in 16 regular season games. During Peach Jam, Williams averaged 9.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in five games played.
