Grant Sherfield, a 6-foot-2 combo guard from North Crowley (TX) High School announced his commitment to UCLA on Monday via Twitter.

I just felt that UCLA was the best place for me offensively, defensively and academically,” Sherfield told D1Vision on Monday. “They also have a great coaching staff.”

According to 247Sports, Sherfield is the No. 88 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 8 player in the state of Texas.

“It will be a great fit because of the way I play,” said Sherfield. “It will also be a good fit because of how explosive I can be scoring the ball.”

Sherfield took his unofficial visit to UCLA on October 21st. Sherfield also took unofficial visits to Indiana (Jan. 21) and Alabama (June 8). Sherfield chose UCLA over Wichita State, Alabama, Indiana, Kansas, and TCU, among others.

Sherfield joins four-star point guard LaMelo Ball as the second commit in UCLA’s 2019 recruiting class, however, it is unlikely that Ball will be able to play college basketball. Sherfield becomes the second Class of 2019 recruit to come off the board in as many days with five-star wing Joey Baker committing to Duke on Sunday.
