UCLA Lands 2018 Big Man Kenny Nwuba

Kenneth Nwuba, the 6-foot-10 center from Huntington (WV) Prep, has committed to UCLA, a source told D1Vision. Nwuba’s commitment comes just weeks after his official to Westwood last month (Oct. 21).

According to 247Sports, Nwuba is ranked as the No. 235 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 16 center in the class. He joins Jules Bernard and David Singleton as the third commit in the Bruins’ 2018 class.¬†Assistant David Grace was the main lead on Nwuba’s recruitment. Grace was the main lead for all three of UCLA’s 2018 commitments.

Nwuba chose UCLA over schools such as Baylor, Arizona, Arizona State, California, DePaul, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech, among others. UCLA was his only official visit.

After spending last year at Oak Hill (VA) Academy, Nwuba transferred to Huntington Prep for his senior year. According to Scout, Nwuba originally intended on visiting Baylor, Georgetown, and Maryland, in addition to UCLA, but never made the trips.

Nwuba is expected to sign his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.
