2018 Four-Star Tyler Herro Picks Up Kentucky Offer; Schedules Official Visit

Tyler Herro, the 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Whitnall (WI) High School, picked up an offer from Kentucky’s John Calipari on Tuesday after seeing Herro workout with assistant coach Kenny Payne.

Herro told Scout on his offer from Kentucky, “It feels good,” Herro said when asked about the offer. “Meeting with coach Cal and coach [Kenny] Payne was good. They keep it real. They told me Kentucky is a different beast and if I want to make it then Kentucky is the spot. I’m still looking at all my options but it feels good.”

On October 17th, Herro announced that he would back off his commitment to Wisconsin. He originally committed to Wisconsin in early September of last year.

With Kentucky trending in the 247Sports Crystal Ball, Herro has set an official visit to Lexington for the weekend of November 11th. The CrystalBall has has 13 out of 17 experts predicting he will choose Kentucky.

Arizona, Butler, Kansas, Oregon and Villanova are other schools in the mix for Herro. However, Herro told us at D1Vision on Thursday that he currently has no other visits planned.

Five-star point guard Immanuel Quickley is the only commitment for Kentucky’s 2018 recruiting class at the moment. Kentucky is also pursuing players such as RJ BarrettZion Williamson, Bol Bol, Quentin GrimesDarius Garland, and Keldon Johnson.

According to 247Sports, Herro is ranked as the No. 36 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 4 shooting guard in the class.
