Five-star unsigned 2017 Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy point guard Trevon Duval announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he will take his fifth and final official visit to Seton Hall starting Wednesday.

Duval has previously visited Kansas (Jan 31), Duke (Feb 8), Arizona (Feb 24) and Baylor (Feb 26) and his father told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi last week that Seton Hall would get his fifth official sometime this week.

Duval is widely considered the top point guard in the 2017 class with three of the four major rankings services placing him in that top spot. He is one of only two Top 5 2017 uncommitted players in the 247Sports Composite Player rankings, falling just below Mohamed Bamba.

The timing for Seton Hall is perfect as the Pirates take the court Thursday at 2:30 pm ET in a Big East Tournament matchup against Marquette University in Madison Square Garden.

Most believe Seton Hall is a long shot, including those who have cast their votes in the 247Sports CrystalBall. As of this writing, Duke owns 75% of the vote while Seton Hall is yet to secure a single vote.

With starting point guard Madison Jones set to graduate and no other true facilitators on the roster, adding the IMG academy product would be a huge get for the Pirates. The Pirates already have commitments from Top 100 SG Myles Cale (Appoquinimink High School, DE) and big man Darnell Brodie (Newark East Side, NJ).

The fact is, whoever gets Trevon Duval will get a game changer, as ESPN points out in their evaluation: “Duval has the athleticism and explosiveness to be built in the same prototype as the likes of Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose.”
