Thoughts and Thank You on this Memorial Day – D1Vision

In 1770, Crispus Attucks, an African American sailor, became the first casualty of the American Revolution when he was shot and killed in what became known as the Boston Massacre.

Since then, over 1,000,000 individuals have sacrificed their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today. Around the world, our soldiers are still being placed in harms way on a daily basis.

On this Memorial Day, I can’t help but to reflect on everything our country has gone through and the men and women who have sacrificed to¬†protect these freedoms.

Perfect we are not. United, sometimes that’s questionable. But strong, we have and always will be. Our country is one of diversity. One of multiple races, religions and backgrounds. A true melting pot.

Our history is littered with so many amazing stories of heroism, both on and off the battlefield. From the Revolutionary War to the Civil War to World War I, World War II, Vietnam and Desert Storm, soldiers have given their lives to protect the rights we all enjoy today.

Off the battlefield, individuals have stood their ground for those very same rights. From Jesse Owens to Abraham Lincoln to Martin Luther King, the list is almost endless.

A country is never one. It is made up of millions of individuals united as one. Different minds, thoughts, beliefs with one unity, one purpose, to provide freedom not only at home, but to those abroad.

From everyone here at D1Vision, we want to say thank you for making America the greatest country on Earth. To all who have or are currently serving our country. To those family members whose sons, daughters, dads, husbands, moms, aunts or uncles are currently serving, Thank You! for your sacrifice.

The team at D1Vision.
