Temple Lands 2018 Center Arashma Parks

Arashma Parks Commits

Arashma Parks, the 6-foot-8 center from Commonwealth (NY) Academy, announced his commitment to Temple on Thursday via Twitter. Parks took an unofficial visit to Temple earlier this week (Aug. 1). He is the younger brother of Villanova forward Omari Spellman.

“It was consistency,” Parks told D1VISION on his commitment. “They did a wonderful job recruiting and I fell in love with the campus.”

According to 247Sports, Parks is ranked as the No. 245 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 5 player from the state of New York. He is the first commit in Temple’s 2017 class. He chose Temple over UMASS and Boston College, among others.

Playing with the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL, Parks averaged 2.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 14 regular season games. Parks didn’t play in Peach Jam.

Parks will visit Temple for an official visit next month (Sept. 15-17), he told D1VISION. He was offered by Temple last week (July 24).

“I’m just excited to get on campus and get to work.” said Parks.
