The first two rounds of NCAA Tournament play provided us with some amazing games, including a multitude of down to the wire games with a few near buzzer beaters. With the top two seeds (Villanova and Duke) in the East Region eliminated, who will move one step closer to that ever so special Final Four berth? Here are my outlooks for each game in the East Region.

#3 Baylor vs. #7 South Carolina | Friday, March 24 | 7:29 pm ET | TBS

Who would have thought we would see this match up? After knocking off the Blue Devils of Duke handily, South Carolina comes into this match up firing on all cylinders. Guard Sindarius Thornwell is legit, Chris Silva and PJ Dozier are great complementary pieces. Frank Martin has led this team to arguably the best season in program history, and their first NCAA Tournament win since 1973. Can the Gamecocks defense go blow for blow with a great Baylor Bears team? After finally escaping the first round, this Baylor team avoided a potential upset by USCJohnathan Motley is arguably the best big man left in the tournament and could have a field day. If Motley goes off and Manu Lecomte and Ish Wainright provide a burst from the outside, Baylor could open the floodgates.

Prediction– This Baylor team is set up for a shot at the final four, they must capitalize. Baylor 65-63.

#8 Wisconsin vs. #4 Florida | Friday, March 24 | 9:59 pm ET | TBS

This game comes on the heels of the Badgers knocking off the number one overall seed Villanova. Led by a stingy defense and a 3 headed monster on offense in Bronson Koeing, Nigel Hayes, and Ethan Happ, this vastly under-seeded Wisconsin team will be a good match up for a Florida team that took care of business against ETSU and UVA. In order for the Gators to keep moving on, guards Kasey Hill and KeVaughn Allen will need to have a better performance after struggling against the UVA defense.

Prediction– Badgers keep rolling and defeat the Gators 70-64.
