Rashun Williams, the 6-foot-6 small forward from Calhoun County (GA) High School, announced his commitment to South Florida on Monday via Twitter. Williams’ commitment comes just a few days after he took his first official visit to USF on Friday (Sept. 1).

“First of all, I’d like to thank God for the people I have in my corner,” said Williams in a statement released via Twitter. “Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’d like to thank all the coaches that have helped me throughout this process. I feel comfortable and confident in my decision to continue my educational and athletic career at the University of South Florida! #GoBulls.”

According to 247Sports, Williams is ranked as the No. 290 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 15 player from the state of Georgia. He is the first commit in USF’s 2018 recruiting class. Williams chose USF over Mercer and Middle Tennessee State. He originally had plans to take official visits to Mercer (Sept. 8-10) and MTSU (Sept. 22-24) but with his commitment, those have been canceled.

“It’s a beautiful school with a new coaching staff,” Williams told Rivals. “They have a family feel and I’m a family guy. All of the players on the team were really cool so I knew I wanted to be here.”

Playing with the Georgia Stars in the Nike EYBL this past summer, Williams averaged 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
