Anthony Nelson, a 6-foot-4 point guard from the South Kent (CT) School announced his commitment to Seton Hall via Twitter.

“Coming from my neighborhood, it was tough. I had to always fight through adversity to get to where I am now. My neighborhood taught me a lot, but the two things that always stuck out to me was to always stay humble and always work hard. What a journey this has been.”

According to 247Sports Nelson is the No. 211 overall player for the Class of 2018 and the No. 37 point guard.

“I have lost family and friends, but I knew in order to have the success that I dreamed about having, I was going to have to work hard for it. I was going to have to make sacrifices for it and I did just that. So, with that being said I would like to thank God, my family, all of my coaches, and all of the schools that have recruited me throughout this process. Now I would like to announce that next year I will be attending Seton Hall University. All In.”

On September 14th, Nelson announced a final five schools including Clemson, Minnesota, Dayton, Seton Hall, and West Virginia via Twitter. Nelson took official visit to Dayton (Sept. 22nd), Seton Hall (Sept. 28th), and Minnesota (Oct. 13th). Nelson is the first Class of 2018 commit for the Pirates.

Nelson also comes from the same AAU program, the New York Lightning, which produced current Seton Hall freshman guard Jordan Walker.
