Ryan Boyce, the 6-foot-5 small forward from East (TN) High School, will make his college decision on Friday, he announced via Twitter.

Boyce originally cut his list to a final three of Florida, SMU, and Memphis back in August, before reopening his recruitment last month. Through six overall predictions on 247Sports’ Crystal Ball, Florida is the favorite, garnering 50 percent of the votes. However, UAB is gaining traction as 247Sports’ Director of Basketball Scouting Jerry Meyer predicted the Blazers to land Boyce, as they now hold 33 percent of the vote.

According to 247Sports, Boyce is ranked as the No. 141 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 4 player from the state of Tennessee. In addition to Florida, SMU, Memphis, and UAB, Boyce also holds offers from schools such as Auburn, Georgia, Iowa State, Maryland, UMass, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tulsa, Villanova, Wake Forest, and Western Kentucky, among others.

In terms of what he’s looking for in a school, Boyce is looking beyond basketball, as he told D1Vision in August, “I’m looking for a school that’s gonna help me be successful in life, past basketball, just in case I don’t make it to the NBA. I want a school that’s going to help me be successful and a school that’s going to push me to be my best.”

Boyce took an official visit to SMU last month (Sept. 23) and originally planned to visit Florida on October 14. Playing with Team Penny on the Nike EYBL Circuit this past summer, Boyce averaged 7.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 0.6 steals per game, in 14 regular season games. In two games played at Peach Jam, Boyce averaged 8.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game.
