Riley Battin Top Six

Riley Battin, the 6-foot-9 center from Oak Park (CA) High School, named Davidson, Ohio State, Colorado, Vanderbilt, Utah, and Clemson as his top six schools via Twitter. Battin received an offer from Ohio State earlier this week (Aug. 2) and Clemson last month (July 24). Battin broke down each school for D1VISION:

Davidson: “I really like the coaching staff and their style of play.”

Colorado: “They have experienced coaches and a beautiful campus. Also, they play in the Pac-12 conference.”

Ohio State: “I have a good relationship with the coaches from when they were at Butler. They are also a prestigious school in a great league.”

Vanderbilt: “I really like their coaching staff and they are a tough team in a great league.”

Utah: “I have a great relationship with the staff. They play in the Pac-12 and their style of play is similar to mine.”

Clemson: “I like their coaching staff and the way they play. I also like that they are in the ACC.”

Battin also told D1VISION that he has planned official visits to Davidson (Sept. 1-3) and Utah (Sept. 15-17).

According to 247Sports, Battin is ranked as the No. 218 overall player in the class of 2018 and the No. 21 player from the state of California. Battin took an unofficial to Colorado earlier this year (Jan. 26)

Playing with Earl Watson Elite on the Under Armour Circuit this summer, Battin averaged 12.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks per game in 17 games, leading Earl Watson Elite to a 13-3 record on the circuit. Battin’s teammates with Earl Watson Elite, Miles Norris and Cassius Stanley participated in the 2017 Under Armour Association All-American Camp last month.

“Riley is one of hardest working kids I have ever been around,” Earl Watson Elite president Ryan Silver told D1VISION. “He is a total winner and will have great success wherever he goes.”
