Pittsburgh Lands 2018 Forward Bryce Golden

Bryce Golden, the 6-foot-9 power forward from St. James (MD) School, announced his commitment to Pittsburgh Thursday via Twitter.

“First of all I’d like to start off by saying thanks to all the schools that have recruited me over the last year or so, all of which gave me an opportunity to extend my athletic/academic career,” said Golden in a statement released on Twitter. “I would also like to thank my parents, brother, family, and coaches for having my back throughout the process.”

Golden is the first commit in Pittsburgh’s 2018 class and is rated by 247Sports as a four-star recruit. He is ranked by 247Sports as the #79 overall player in the Class of 2018.

“After many talks and conversations with the people close to me, I’d like to commit to the University of Pittsburgh. I firmly believe in what Coach [Kevin] Stallings is building and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Golden’s commitment comes just two days after his second unofficial visit to Pittsburgh on Tuesday (June 13). He also took an unofficial to Pittsburgh earlier this year (Feb. 11).
