Nike 2017 EYBL Peach Jam Teams and Pools Finalized

EYBL PEACH JAM SESSION THREE

The cream of the crop in high school basketball will once again congregate in North Augusta, South Carolina for the annual Nike EYBL Peach Jam, the youth circuits championship showcase. After four regular season weekend sessions in April and May, 24 of the 40 EYBL teams have advanced to the prestigious event.

All Ohio Red (OH), Howard Pulley (MN), Boo Williams (VA), Bradley Beal Elite (MO), Cal Supreme Elite (CA) and Team CP3 (NC) all finished with 13-3 records during the regular season, assuring themselves a spot at the table.

The biggest question is who would get the at-large bids and could the lure of a Cam Reddish, Marvin Bagley or a R.J. Barrett be big enough to get teams with losing records into this years event.

In the past, Peach Jam has seen the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, Anthony Davis, LaMarcus Aldridge, Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose, among other NBA stars, compete in the annual event. This years event will be no different as future NBA players hit the floor for a chance to take that highly coveted bite out of a Georgia peach.

Below are the final 24 teams, their assigned pool and the players within those pools to watch.

Maybe the biggest surprise is the at-large bid given to a 2-14 Nike Phamily team. A team that includes the top player in the 2018 class in Marvin Bagley. No team with less than seven wins has ever been included in Peach Jam.

Nike Team Florida (8-8) and Team Final (7-9) are in the play-in game, winner stays in Peach Jam, loser plays in the local Nike tourney. A Nike Phamily vs Team Final seems a more sensible matchup for the play-in game. The lure of Marvin Bagley III is apparently more significant than a Cam Reddish, Balsa Koprivica or Vernon Carey Jr. draw.

Mokan Elite (KS) won the 2016 Peach Jam behind the play of Missouri incoming freshman Michael Porter Jr, Oklahoma incoming freshman Trae Young and Missouri commit Jontay Porter. Mokan defeated a tough PSA Cardinals (NYC) team that included  Texas incoming freshman Mo Bamba and Kentucky incoming freshman Quade Green.

The Peach Jam will be held July 12-16 at the Riverview Park Activities Center in North Augusta, South Carolina.
