The 2017 version of the Nike EYBL is officially over as the Oakland Soldiers claim the Peach Jam title with a thrilling 70-63 win over Team Takeover at the Riverview Park Activities Center in North Augusta, South Carolina.

The Soldiers led wire to wire, handling the vaunted Team Takeover pressure during the second half. That pressure was the catalyst that brought Takeover into the finals with a thrilling win over Bradley Beal Elite in the Peach Jam semis. It was once again the answer that brought them back from a deficit that at one time reached 21-points.

Oakland had a tough road to the Peach Jam title, having to defeat the PSA Cardinals in the final game of pool play to make it to the Quarterfinals. The Soldiers handled E1T1 91-71 in the quarterfinals. In the semis, James Akinjo had 17 points and 5 assists to lead the Soldiers to a 65-59 win over a tough Boo Williams squad.

Kihei Clark is the Peach Jam finals MVP, finishing with 18 points, 3 assists and one steal. USC bound Taeshon Cherry had 13 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and one block, hitting three triples throughout the first half. Brandon Slater led Team Takeover with 19 points to go with 6 rebounds and one steal in defeat.

Todays win is the second Peach Jam championship for the Oakland Soldiers.
