Oak Ridge Lands 2018 Five-Star Transfer Emmitt Williams

IMG Academy (FL) added several top athletes to their roster for the coming season, but the team recently suffered a loss when power forward Emmitt Williams decided to transfer for his senior year.

Emmitt left the team, but not the state of Florida, deciding to transfer to Orlando (FL) Oak Ridge High, where he is expected to have a bigger role than he had in the Ascenders.

Last season, Williams averaged 16.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks, helping to lead IMG Academy to a 26-2 record. Alongside Duke freshman point guard Trevon Duval, Williams helped IMG reach the prestigious Dick’s Nationals, falling to Greensboro Day (NC) in their debut.

Playing for E1T1 on the Nike EYBL summer circuit, Williams averaged 17.1 points and 11.3 rebounds in 22 games. In addition to playing on the Nike circuit, E1T1 participated in a friendly match against SC Supreme and five-star Zion Williamson.  Although Williamson got the better of Williams in the head-to-head match, it was easy to see the athleticism Williams possess, solidifying his elite athlete status.

Currently, Williams is ranked 21st in the 247Sports industry-generated composite rankings, No. 5 at his position and No. 4 in the state of Florida.

Williams recently cut his list to a final seven consisting of Duke, Oregon, Florida, Kansas, LSU, Miami and USC. Oregon is the current CrystalBall favorite with 67 percent of the vote.
