Oak Hill Lands 2019 Transfer Ashton Hagans

After being defeated by Findlay (NV) Prep in the Dick’s Nationals tournament last month, Steve Smith and Oak Hill (VA) Academy is already working towards next season after landing 2019 transfer Ashton Hagans on Monday.

Hagans, the 6-foot-2 point guard from the Class of 2019, will transfer from Newton (GA) High School to Oak Hill, per Justin Young.

“We’re so happy to have Ashton join the Oak Hill basketball family,” said head coach Steve Smith. “We love what he brings to our team as a player and person. He’s a winner and plays with [the] toughness that we lacked this past season on both ends of the court. He has tremendous playmaking abilities that make others better.”

Hagans is ranked by 247Sports as the #19 overall player in 2019. He currently holds offers from schools such as Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, among others.

Oak Hill is losing senior graduates Billy Preston, Lindell Wigginton, Matt Coleman, Tyshon AlexanderDevontae Shuler, and Benjamin Davis.
