Florida State picked up a soon-to-be blue chip talent late Saturday night as point guard Naseem Khaalid announced his verbal intent to the Seminoles. The 6’1″ guard out of Jacksonville is the first to commit to Leonard Hamilton’s staff for the 2020 campaign.

“I decided to make my decision early and verbally commit to Florida State University!!”

Khaalid cited the reason for his decision was his relationship with the coaching staff as ties extend back prior to high school.

The 2020 guard is extremely quick off the bounce and is special out in the open floor. His explosiveness is uncanny and has great court vision along with the ability to get to the rim at will. He also possesses a solid mid-range game.

He is a floor general who can get to any spot he wants to on the court and has a knack for picking his spots.

At the 2017 Super Soph camp, it was noted that Khaalid was “virtually unguardable,” per PQSports.

Khaalid is quickly emerging as one of the top prospects in the 2020 class and should be a household name coming into his junior year.
