Wichita State Lands 2018 Montverde Academy (FL) Big Morris Udeze

Morris Udeze, the 6-foot-8 center from Montverde (FL) Academy, announced his commitment to Wichita State on Wednesday via his Twitter account.

“That was my first official visit (June 12),” Udeze told D1Vision when asked what he liked about the Shockers. “It’s a great school and a great program. They win a lot. Their style of play fits my style of play.”

Udeze chose Wichita State over TCU, Ohio State, Butler and LSU.

“Thank you to every coach and program that recruited me,” Morris said via Twitter. “I appreciate your time and your belief in my ability to succeed. Campus life, proximity to loved ones, program past success, and my own intuition guided my decision.”

“I want to win championships and I want to grow,” Udeze continued. “I want to show the world who I am as a player. And I have found the perfect program for my style of play.”

“First off I’d like to think God, family, friends who got me through this process,” Udeze stated. “It’s a tough one, but I’ve decided to commit to Wichita State University. Go Shockers!”

Udeze joins wing Rodgerick Brown and shooting guard Erik Stevenson as the third member of Wichita State’s 2018 recruiting class.
