Miller Kopp, the 6-foot-6 small forward from Houston Christian (TX) High School, spoke with D1VISION on Tuesday about his recent visit to Butler (Sept. 1).

“It was good. I definitely enjoyed it,” said Kopp about his visit. “They just talked about the big opportunity they have. Of course, nothing is guaranteed when it comes to playing time but they just talked about the big gap they need filled.”

Butler is also in the running for Kopp’s AAU teammate with the Houston Defenders, Morris Udeze, who took his official visit last month (Aug. 26). He spoke with D1Vision about his visit and his top five schools last month.

Kopp, who cut his list to six last month, also has official visits planned to Texas A&M (Sept. 8-10) and Northwestern (Sept. 15-17). He is also considering Georgetown, Michigan, and Vanderbilt.

According to 247Sports, Kopp is ranked as the No. 117 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 10 player from the state of Texas. Back in August, Kopp said that he was targeting a November decision.

Playing with the Houston Defenders on the UAA Circuit, Kopp averaged 20.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game in 15 games. Kopp broke down his top six schools for D1Vision last month:

Michigan: “They have big-time basketball and great history in the program. Having guys like Nik Stauskas come out of their program and have success in the NBA is good to see.”

Texas A&M: “They’re an hour and a half drive from my house so I’ve been on campus a lot and the coaches are good guys. They’ve got a good plan for me.”

Butler: “Their new staff is recruiting me hard. There’s a lot of opportunity with me potentially coming in. I love the basketball history.”

Northwestern: “Coach [ChrisCollins is definitely a coach who has a vision for me and we’ve developed a great relationship throughout the spring and summer. He didn’t miss any of my games all summer.”

Vanderbilt: “Coach [BryceDrew is a good coach and I think when he puts his system in place at Vandy they’re gonna go to a whole new level.”

Georgetown: “They have a new staff and a great basketball history in the program. It’s exciting.”
