Michigan State Now Favored to Win 2018 NCAA Title

The Michigan State Spartans, led by head coach Tom Izzo and rising sophomore Miles Bridges, are now favorites to win the 2018 NCAA Championship by Las Vegas Odds. The Spartans were given 6/1 odds to win the championship.

The Spartans overtook Duke, who was previously the Vegas favorite back in May. Despite losing Eron Harris and Alvin Ellis III to graduation, Michigan State will bring back sophomores Miles BridgesCassius WinstonJosh Langford, and Nick Ward. Add a two-man recruiting class of Xavier Tillman and McDonald’s All-American Jaren Jackson Jr., and the Spartans have become favorites to win the 2018 national title.

Michigan State has also been able to get off to a strong start in forming their 2018-19 with the No. 2 ranked recruiting class in 2018. Izzo and the Spartans already have a four-man recruiting class of Gabe Brown, Foster Loyer, Marcus Bingham Jr., and Thomas Kithier.

North Carolina and Duke were both given 7/1 odds to win the championship. UNC, the defending national champions will bring back seniors Theo Pinson and Joel Berry II, along with sophomores Brandon Robinson and Seventh Woods. They also bring in a five-man recruiting class of Jalek Felton, Garrison Brooks, Brandon Huffman, Sterling Manley, and Andrew Platek.

Duke, after losing freshmen Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles, Frank Jackson, and sophomores Chase Jeter and Luke Kennard, will still field a championship-caliber team led by senior Grayson Allen. They also have a six-man recruiting class of Trevon Duval, Wendell Carter Jr., Gary Trent Jr., Jordan Tucker, Jordan Goldwire, and Alex O’Connell.
