Ignas Brazdeikis, the 6-foot-8 shooting guard from Orangeville (ON) Prep, announced his commitment to John Beilein and the Michigan Wolverines on Friday via Twitter. Brazdeikis took an official visit to Michigan earlier this month (Sept. 8).

“It was the perfect fit,” Brazdeikis told D1Vision on Friday. “It was a dream school since I was a kid, and the first university I knew about and wanted to play for.”

According to 247Sports, Brazdeikis is ranked as the No. 91 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 1 player from Ontario. He joins Brandon Johns, David DeJulius, and Taylor Currie as the fourth commit in the Wolverines 2018 class. Brazdeikis chose Michigan over schools such as Florida, Vanderbilt, UConn, Illinois, Virginia Tech, and SMU.

“The style of play, conference, player development and opportunity to play were huge factors for me,” said Brazdeikis. “But most importantly building that great relationship with the coaches and players! It felt like home when I visited.”

Before committing Brazdeikis also took an official visit to Vanderbilt (Sept. 15) and had originally planned to take a visit to Florida (Sept. 29), which has been cancelled.

“I’m super excited about everything,” Brazdeikis said. “But mostly being able to play with Michigan across my chest. And playing for my family, representing Canada and Lithuania.”
