Michael Porter Jr. to Missouri

Michael Porter Jr., the 6-foot-10 small forward from Nathan Hale (WA) High School, announced his commitment to Missouri on Friday, via Twitter.

Porter was granted his release from Washington on Friday as his father Michael Porter Sr., was hired to be an assistant coach under Cuonzo Martin at Missouri.  Jontay Porter, announced his decommitment from Washington last week and is still uncommitted.

“Last week everything changed for me regarding my college basketball decision. Realizing I would no longer have the opportunity to play for Coach [Lorenzo]Romar, I’ve taken the past seven days to give great consideration to my future.” said Porter in a statement released on Twitter. “I’m looking forward to the year ahead with Coach Cuonzo [Martin] and my new teammates… Together we hope to restore the atmosphere to Mizzou Arena.”

According to DraftExpress, Porter is projected to be the #2 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. He joins CJ Roberts as the second commit in the Tigers’ 2017 class.
