Mayan Kiir Commit Prep Hoops

LSU has landed their first signee of the Will Wade era in Mayan Kiir. The 6-foot-9 power forward from Victory Rock (FL) Prep, announced his commitment to LSU on Thursday via Instagram.

Kiir was previously committed to VCU before decommitting earlier this month. He joins Galen Alexander and Brandon Rachal as the third commit in LSU’s 2017 class.

“I have a really great relationship with the coach and I feel comfortable with him and his style of play,” Kiir told Scout.

Kiir is originally from Melbourne, Australia, before playing the past four seasons at Victory Rock. This season, Kiir averaged 13.4 points and 8.2 rebounds a game and added 2.3 assists and 1.6 blocks. He shot 54.6 percent from the field and 71.1 percent from the free throw line.
