Markese Jacobs and Demarius Jacobs to Transfer to Hillcrest Prep

Markese Jacobs Transfer

Phoenix (AZ) Hillcrest Prep landed two huge transfers Friday in brothers Markese Jacobs and Demarius Jacobs.

Markese Jacobs, the 5-foot-10, 2019 Kansas commit and his brother, 2018 guard Demarius will transfer to Hillcrest (AZ) Academy, per Hillcrest head coach Kyle Weaver.

“Markese is just a physical specimen and a God-given talent,” Kyle Weaver said in an interview with D1Vision. “He is ultra quick, ultra explosive. From everything I’ve seen, through working him out and watching film, nobody can stay in front of him.”

“He’s very strong too, even though he’s small, he’s very very strong,” Weaver continued. “He can absorb contact in the lane. He reminds me a lot of Isaiah Thomas and Nate Robinson. He’s just explosive. He does stuff in games that gets people out of their seats. Both these kids are going to be great additions to Hillcrest and helping us maintain our Top-10 in the country ranking.”

Markese is ranked by 247Sports as the #52 player in the Class of 2019.

“Demarius is a really good combo guard that can play the one or two. He decommitted from Southern Illinois because he’s higher than a mid-major player,” said Weaver. “He can score it, shoot it and defend really well.

“He has great length, great court vision and is a good playmaker when you put the ball in his hands,” Weaver continued. “His best attribute is that he can shoot the three. He’s deadly from the three point line, can put the ball on the floor, dunk on you, and do all that stuff. He’s a great athlete.”

Hillcrest also landed 2018 6-foot-10 big man KJ Hymes earlier this month. “He’s 6-10, has great form and can play the five a little bit,” said Weaver. “He’s a big-time prospect, another top-60 prospect. He’s ultra skilled for his size.”
