2018 Four-Star Guard Luther Muhammad Names Top Five

Luther Muhammad, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Hudson Catholic (NJ) High School, named a final top five of St. John’s, Ohio State, Virginia, West Virginia and Xavier on Friday via Twitter. His top five comes just a day after receiving an offer from Virginia.

Muhammad took an official to St. John’s earlier this summer (June 23). “I like their style of play, they have pretty good academics, and coach [Chris Mullin] is not so wild, and pretty laid back,” Muhammad told D1Vision earlier this summer.

According to 247Sports, Muhammad is ranked as the No. 65 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 5 player from the state of New Jersey. Although he has only taken one of his official visits thus far, Muhammad will also visit Xavier next month (Sept. 15-17). He will also be visiting Ohio State in September, he told ZagsBlog.

Playing on the Nike EYBL this summer with the New York Rens, Muhammad averaged 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in eight games played. Muhammad also played on the Under Armour Circuit with Sports U this summer, Muhammad averaging 6.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game, in eight games.
