Kyler Edwards, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep, announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Sunday. Edwards’ commitment comes during an official visit to Lubbock this weekend.

“I’ve trained and invested into the game in some of the most uncomfortable circumstances so when the time came, I could have options,” Edwards said in a statement via Twitter. “I’m grateful for the programs that have used the resources they felt needed in this recruiting process.”

“On my visit to Texas Tech, a vision was shared,” Edwards stated. “A vision I believe in, a vision I’m excited to (a) big part of. Coach (Chris) Beard and the staff work well together to push their guys past their comfort zone and into greatness. The atmosphere on campus is electric. I’m blessed to say I’m a Texas Tech Red Raider. #wreckem.”

Edwards chose the Red Raiders over the likes of SMU, Missouri, Virginia Tech and LSU, amongst others. He officially visited SMU at the beginning of September. The Ponies were considered the heavy favorites.

Edwards joins three-star wing Deshawn Corprew as the second commitment from the 2018 class for head coach Chris Beard.
