Kevin Knox, the 6-foot-8 small forward from Tampa Catholic (FL) High School, set an official visit to Missouri Saturday for April 8-9.

Knox, who played in the McDonald’s All-American Game on Wednesday, told ZagsBlog.com that Missouri commit Michael Porter Jr. has been recruiting him to Mizzou. “Mike [Porter] reached out to me, right before he committed to see if I wanted to play with him,” said Knox. “I know Coach [Cuonzo] Martin hit up my dad to try to get me to visit. I don’t really know at this point but he’s in my ear and I hear what he’s saying.”

Knox is also considering and has taken official visits to Duke (Oct. 28), Florida State (Jan. 7), Kentucky (Jan. 28), and UNC (Feb. 17). He broke down all four schools for ZagsBlog:

Kentucky: “They’re run and gun. They’ve got a lot of good players coming in. Coach Kenny Payne is a really good coach. Coach Cal is a really good coach. They like to run up and down with a lot of transition which is something I like to do.”

Duke: “Jayson Tatum [is leaving] and they’ve had a lot of good wing players to come through Duke and they’ve done a really good job. They have a great all-around game.”

FSU: “Dwayne Bacon and Jonathan [Isaac] are gone, so I’d be able to come in and get all the minutes and start my own legacy.”

UNC: “Justin Jackson is probably gone. Joel Berry and Theo Pinson will probably be back, so I’d be able to get minutes and put the ball in the basket.”

Knox said Porter has been relentless since prior to announcing his commitment to Missouri.

“He’s been in my ear ever since he committed (to Mizzou),” Knox told the KC Star Tuesday on during media day. “Every day, he texts me and makes sure that I stay in touch with him. It’s a possibility. You never know. I’ve got one more official. That could be it or it couldn’t be.”
