Kentucky Offers Top 20 Prospect Quentin Grimes

Kentucky head coach John Calipari extended his second offer in as many nights on Wednesday, this time to College Parks (TX) The Woodlands point guard Quentin Grimes. Calipari extended an offer to five-star Zion Williamson the previous night.

“It’s great to have received an offer from Coach Cal and Kentucky,” Grimes told D1Vision via text. “I really like how he lets his guards play and run the show.”

Grimes is the second point guard in the class of 2018 to receive an offer from Calipari. Immanuel Quickley, a five-star out of Bel Air (MD) John Carroll School, gathered a Kentucky offer in October of last year.

Kentucky was recently named as one of Quickley’s final seven schools. Duke, Kansas, Maryland, Miami, Providence, and Virginia round out that list.

With Kentucky, Grimes offer sheet now consists of 22 programs. Schools that include the likes of Louisville, Arizona, Kansas, Marquette, Virginia, Florida, and Baylor.

High Praise:

Jerry Meyer, 247Sports National Director of Basketball Scouting, has high praise for Grimes improved game.

“Grimes has been a five-star in the Top247 shortly after he hit the national scene last year,” said Meyer via email. “He has steadily improved while also getting bigger and more explosive. If I had to take one point guard out of this class, he would be my pick.”

“He has all the tools of a great point guard and also has the ability to excel as a wing player,” Meyer continued. His physical presence and versatility along with his high-level skill set place him above the other point guards in the 2018 class.”

247Sports has Quentin Grimes as their number one point guard in the 2018 class and the number 10 ranked player nationally.
