Brentwood Academy (TN) five-star point guard Darius Garland picked up an offer from John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats on Sunday.

“Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Kentucky,” Garland tweeted.

The 247Sports Composite Rankings has Garland as the number one point guard in the class of 2018 and the number eight overall player.

With offers from the likes of Duke, Louisville, Virginia, UCLA, Indiana and Kansas, amongst others, the 6-foot-1 Garland has his choice of blue blooded schools to choose from as he finalizes his recruitment.

Most believe Kentucky has locked in their point guard of the future in Immanuel Quickley, so the Garland offer may be a minor surprise.

So far, Garland is only one of two players to receive a Kentucky offer during the Spring and Summer live periods. The other being Cal Supreme Elite (CA) big Bol Bol who picked up a Kentucky offer back in early May.

Garland averaged 16.4 points, 4.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds during the Nike EYBL circuit, helping to lead his Bradley Beal Elite (MO) team to the semifinals of the prestigious EYBL Peach Jam.

As of this writing, Duke is the heavy favorite on the 247Sports CrystalBall, claiming 75% of the overall vote.
