Josh Cornish Commits to Southern Utah

Josh Cornish

Team Melo combo guard Josh Cornish — one of the top shooters in the DMV class of 2018 — has committed to Southern Utah. Cornish chose the Thunderbirds over Navy, Wagner, Radford, Coastal Carolina, University of Maryland-Baltimore and Niagara, according to Team Melo Recruiting Coordinator Dwayne Wise.

Cornish recently transferred from Calvert Hall (MD) to Dulaney High (MD) for his senior year, joining his younger brother freshman Isaiah Cornish and Top 30 sophomore prospect Che Evans Jr.

Southern Utah assistant coach Chris Pompey has strong ties in the DMV. Pompey, along with head coach Todd Simon, prioritized Cornish, following him throughout the live periods. Cornish had a very successful AAU campaign after starting at PrepHoops Elite Camp in early spring.

Part of the decision to commit early was to concentrate on his senior season academically as well prepare to help Dulaney get to a State Championship. The Lions fell short to Perry Hall in last seasons semifinals.
