Just one day after Duke freshman guard Frank Jackson announced that he would remain in the NBA Draft, the Blue Devils have landed 2017 small forward Jordan Tucker.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank my parents, family, friends, coaches, teachers and every single person that has contributed to my development both on and off the court,” Tucker wrote in a statement released via his Twitter account.

“Most importantly my father, he’s been through it all with me… the blood, sweat and tears: I wouldn’t be who I am today without you!” Tucker continued. “I hope I can make you proud over the next four years. I spent a long time thinking about this college decision and I am excited for the next step of my career.”

“When weighing in all the factors, one school has the right combination of great academics and basketball,” said Tucker. “It feels the best decision and fit for me. I know people may not agree with my decision, but I’m just a kid from White Plains, NY following his dreams!”

“It is with great pleasure that I have decided to attend Duke University next season and join the Brotherhood,” Tucker said in closing.

Following an official visit to Duke on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Tucker announced his commitment to Duke over Syracuse and Georgia Tech.

He joins Wendell Carter Jr., Gary Trent Jr.Alex O’Connell, and Jordan Goldwire as the fifth commit in Duke’s 2017 class.

With the commitment of Tucker, the Blue Devils jump to the number three position in the 247Sports 2017 Class Rankings, moving up two spots.
