2018 Four-Star Jericole Hellems Commits to NC State

Jericole Hellems, a 6-foot-6 wing from Chaminade (MO) has announced his commitment to NC State via Twitter.

“First, I want like to thank God for the opportunity to even be in this position. Next, I would like to thank my Mom and Dad for supporting me through everything. I love you both! Also, I would like to thank all my coaches for making me the basketball player I am today.”

Hellems continued, “Furthermore, I would like to thank the Chaminade coaches, faculty, and staff for all of their support over the years. Lastly, I would like to thank all of the schools that recruited me during this process. With that being said, I am excited to announce I am committing to North Carolina State University. Go Wolfpack!”

On August 3rd, Hellems announced his final seven via Twitter including South Carolina, Missouri, North Carolina State, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and Florida. Hellems earned offers from all of these schools from his performance at Nike EYBL Peach Jam.

Playing alongside Class of 2018 five-star point guard Darius Garland, Hellems averaged 25.2 points 7.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 5 pool play games at Peach Jam. In two bracket play games, Hellems averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. Hellems single-handedly turned himself from a three-star prospect to a four-star prospect.

247Sports moved him from No. 296 overall player to the No. 135 player for the Class of 2018. According to 247Sports Hellems is the No. 31 overall small forward for the Class of 2018 and No. 4 player in the state of Missouri.

Hellems joins four-star power forward Immanuel Bates and four-star power forward Ian Steere for the North Carolina State Class of 2018.
