Five-Star Jaylen Hoard Commits to Wake Forest

Jaylen Hoard — the 6-foot-8 wing out of France who currently attends Wesleyan Christian High (NC) — has committed to Wake Forest, he announced via Twitter.

“I picked Wake Forest because I felt like it was the best fit for me,” Hoard told D1Vision. “They also made me a priority during the process. They’ve seen me at my best and my worst, but they stayed consistent.”

Hoard chose the Demon Deacons over Kansas, Washington and Providence, among others. The four-star Hoard joins three-star point guard Sharone Weight Jr. as the second commit in Wake’s 2018 recruiting class. With the addition of Hoard, head coach¬†Danny Manning now has the 16th ranked 2018 recruiting class.

What will Hoard bring to Winston-Salem: ESPN evaluation – “Since coming into this country from France, Hoard has developed and improved at a swift pace. His basketball IQ is stronger than most know about and his physical tools are evident.”

Hoard averaged 14.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steal per game while playing with Team CP3 on the prestigious Nike EYBL Summer circuit. Of his 134 rebounds, 41% (55) were on the offensive end.
