Jaiden Delaire, the 6-foot-8 small forward from The Loomis Chaffee (CT) School, told D1Vision on Saturday that Stanford, Yale, USC, and Virginia are the four schools working the hardest for his recruitment. He broke down all four schools for D1Vision:

Stanford: “Stanford plays in a great conference, thus given the opportunity to play great teams. Obviously, their academics catches my eye and I feel very comfortable talking to the coaching staff.”

Yale: “The Ivy League is a great conference. Yale is closest to my home and similar to Stanford, as the academics are phenomenal.”

USC and Virginia: “The main thing that appeals to me is the academics. I also have good relationships with all the coaches and all those schools play in conferences that interest me.”

According to 247Sports, Delaire is ranked as the No. 154 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 4 player from the state of Connecticut. He also spoke about all four of the schools from a broader perspective.

“With all of those schools, there’s a phenomenal balance of both academics and athletics,” said Delaire. “That’s what really catches my eye in looking at schools. I also feel I have good relationships with all of those school, but some more than others.”

Although none of the schools mentioned above have any 2019 commits, many of them had 2018 players sign during the Early Signing Period.
