Jaemyn Brakefield, the 6-foot-9 power forward from Huntington (WV) Prep, spoke with D1Vision on Thursday about his recent UCLA offer.

“I have a teammate from last year at UCLA [Chris Smith] and I have one from this year going as well [Kenny Nwuba],” said Brakefield. “They want the best for you on and off the court.”

As a freshman at UCLA, Smith is averaging 6.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game, in eight games played. Nwuba, who is a senior at Huntington Prep, announced his commitment to UCLA last month.

According to 247Sports, Brakefield is ranked as the No. 26 overall player in the Class of 2020 and the No. 1 player from the state of West Virginia. He broke down his recruitment with D1Vision in further detail last month.

In addition to UCLA, Brakefield currently holds offers from schools such as Baylor, Houston, Ole Miss, and Virginia Tech, among others with interest from Ohio State and Kentucky. He has taken unofficial visits to Ohio State (March 4) and Kentucky (Oct. 13 and Nov. 19).
