Damezi Anderson, the 6-foot-6 small forward from James Whitcomb (IN) Riley High School, announced his commitment to Indiana on Monday per Scout, giving the Hoosiers their second commit of the day and third in the past 24 hours.

“I have decided to commit to Indiana,” Anderson told Scout.com. “I just felt like it was the perfect fit for me and I really like the coaching staff.”

Anderson joins Jerome Hunter as the second commit in Indiana’s 2018 class after Hunter committed earlier Monday. Hunter and Anderson give Indiana a top-ten recruiting class according to 247Sports. The Hoosiers also landed forward Race Thompson on Sunday, who will reclassify to the Class of 2017.

“I just felt like their style and how they use their guards and forwards works with my game,” said Anderson. “Also it is close to home and I am a hometown kid.”

According to 247Sports, Anderson is ranked as the No. 91 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 3 player from the state of Indiana. He chose Indiana over schools such as UConn, DePaul, and Michigan, with interest from Michigan State, Notre Dame, Purdue, and Xavier.

Playing with Meanstreets on the Nike EYBL this summer, Anderson averaged 13.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 0.9 steals per game, in 16 games. He helped lead Meanstreets to an 11-5 record, before going 1-4 in Peach Jam.
