Duke Offers Four-Star Wing Jordan Tucker

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski has extended an offer to Wheeler (GA) High four-star 2017 wing Jordan Tucker.

Speculation was if Duke missed out on five-star Kevin Knox, they could offer Tucker as a backup. That doesn’t seem to be an issue to Tucker.

“Being a 2nd priority doesn’t change who I am as a player, I know what I’m capable of and I’m going to (do) what’s best for myself and my family.” – Jordan Tucker via Twitter.

Tucker visited Georgia Tech last week and was also considering Syracuse and Villanova prior to Fuke offering. Duke’s entrance into his recruitment will upset the apple cart. Speculation was that Tucker has always wanted a Duke offer, but until today, did not hold one.

Duke is awaiting word from the top point guard in the country, Trevon Duval, as well as the top remaining player in the 2017 class, Mo Bamba. Neither, as of this writing, had set an announcement date although Duval did state his would come within a week or so.

Tuckers father, Lou Tucker, told Adam Zagoria that Syracuse had been making a hard push for the New York native.

“Syracuse is every day,” Lou said. “I hear from Coach [Jim Boeheim], from Allen Griffin, from Gerry McNamara, Red Autry. Everybody is doing a good job recruiting Jordan. They pretty much they did everything they could possibly do.”

Tucker tweeted earlier on Monday that he will take an official visit to Duke starting this Wednesday. Duke is now the frontrunner for Tucker’s services. The 247Sports CrystalBall already has the Blue Devils second with 50% of the votes, all occurring over the last two days.

Lou Tucker said a decision from his son could occur by the end of this week.
