De’Vion Harmon, a 6-foot-2 point guard from John Guyer (TX) High School announced his commitment to Oklahoma via Scout.

“I’m going to be a Sooner,” Harmon told Scout. “I’ve been there six times and every time I go back down there I sense so much love and support. I feel comfortable when I go down there. From the coaching staff, players, fan base, to the people on and off the campus, they’re amazing, they’re great people, they ride or die for their Oklahoma Sooners.”

According to 247Sports, Harmon is the No. 41 overall player and the No. 5 point guard. Harmon has taken three recent unofficial visits to Oklahoma dating back to June 27th, he also took an unofficial visit to Baylor (Sept. 9th).

“I can’t wait to be there,” he added. “I can’t wait to go watch them play this year. I think they’re going to have a great year and then when I come in it’s going to be my job as a point guard to try and get us a national title.”

Harmon becomes the first commit for Oklahoma’s 2019 recruiting class. He joins Joey Baker and Grant Sherfield as the third Class of 2019 recruit to verbally commit this week.

Harmon announced his top five schools on October 24th which included Baylor, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Marquette, and Texas.
