Devon Dotson, the 6-foot-2 point guard out of Providence Day (NC) School, will announce his college decision this Friday at 6:00 pm ET. Dotson will announce between Maryland and Kansas. Dotson is no longer considering Florida, per ZAGSBLOG.

Both Maryland and Kansas met with Dotson on Wednesday. The five-star point guard took an official to Maryland at the end of September and was on campus at Kansas officially at the end of August.

The Jayhawks currently lead the 247Sports CrystalBall with 76% of the votes. Dotson is ranked a composite five-star by 247, the 24th ranked recruit in the Class of 2018, the sixth ranked at his position and the second ranked high school player in the state of North Carolina.

Both Kansas and Maryland have two players committed out of the class of 2018. Kansas has secured pledges from four-stars forward Silvio De Sousa and big David McCormack. The Terps two-man class consists of five-star forward Jalen Smith and four-star wing Aaron Wiggins.

A Kansas commit would move the Jayhawks up to No. 3 overall in the 247Sports Composite 2018 Class Rankings. Maryland would take over the No. 2 position with a commitment from Dotson.

Dotson averaged 18.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.45 assists and 2.6 steals per outing while playing with Team Charlotte on the Under Armour grassroots circuit this summer.

As of now it is unclear if Dotson’s announcement will be streamed via the web.
