Dwayne Cohill, the 6-foot-2 combo guard from Holy Name (OH) High School, announced his commitment to Dayton on Monday via Twitter. Cohill’s commitment comes just a few days after his first and only official visit (Sept. 8).

“I felt like I was at home on my visit,” Cohill told D1VISION on Monday via text. “The staff was amazing. It was the first place I felt 100% comfortable at. The way the players and I got along; it was like I was on the team already.”

According to 247Sports, Cohill is ranked as the No. 96 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 5 player from the state of Ohio. He is the first commit in the Flyers’ 2018 class.

“They feel that I‘ll fit in perfectly,” said Cohill. “They think I can come in, right away and make a big impact.”

Cohill also had visits planned to Ohio State and Virginia Tech but they have been canceled. In addition to Virginia Tech and Ohio State, Cohill was also considering  Vanderbilt, Clemson, UNLV, West Virginia, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Texas.

“It’s not too big and not too small,” said Cohill about Dayton. “It’s just the right size. It has everything you need right around it and basketball is the main focus. That’s all anyone talks about.”
