Daivien Williamson

Daivien Williamson, a 6-foot-2 point guard from Winston-Salem (NC) Prep caught up with us at D1VISION to break down his final four schools.

Wofford-“Great facilities, state of the art technology everywhere. It’s close to home, so that’s a plus too. They want me to come in play valuable minutes and help lead them back to the NCAA tournament.”

East Tennessee State-“Great coaching staff. love coach [Steve] Forbes. I felt very comfortable down there and watching them practice. I see they definitely fit my style of play. They want me to come in and play a big role on a very good team.”

Drexel-“Philadelphia is a great city to play basketball in. It is definitely easy to get exposure there for the next level. The CAA (Colonial Athletic Association) is a great conference full of great guards and they really think I can excel on the court as well as the classroom.”

James Madison-“They are great academically as well as athletically. State of the art institution and a lot of good players I can see myself playing with.”

Williamson announced his final four including James Madison, Drexel, East Tennessee State, and Wofford on October 5th via Twitter. Williamson has taken official visits to Drexel (Sept.22), James Madison (Sept. 30th). He has taken unofficial visits to Wofford (Sept. 9th) and East Tennessee State (Oct. 7th).

When we asked Williamson if he has anymore visits, he said, “I’m debating about taking official visits to East Tennessee State and Wofford since my visits to them were just unofficial ones.” Williamson looks to make a decision soon, “I want to make my decision sometime before my senior season begins.”

Last season at Winston-Salem Prep Williamson averaged 17 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds.
