Chicago State Lands 3-Star Guard Kezo Brown

Kezo Brown, the 6-foot combo guard from Simeon (IL) High School, announced his commitment to Chicago State on Tuesday via Twitter. He received an offer from Cougars earlier this year (May 15).

“Very blessed to say [that] I will be going to Chicago State,” said Brown in a statement released via Twitter. “For all the people that might look down on it, it’s just a great fit for me and my family. Chi-Town Back Baby.”

Ranked by 247Sports as the No. 304 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 8 player from the state of Illinois, Brown is considered to be the biggest land in the school’s history. He is the first commit in Chicago State’s 2018 class.

Brown chose Chicago State over schools such as Nebraska, Towson, Kent State, DePaul, and UIC. He also received interest from Kansas.

Playing for Mac Irvin Fire on the Nike EYBL circuit, Brown has averaged 2.8 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.2 assists in four games. Brown’s teammate with Mac Irvin Fire, Ayo Dosunmu, told D1VISION on Tuesday that he plans on cutting his list but is unsure whether he will cut his list before the end of the summer.
