Casey Morsell, the 2019 point guard from St. John’s College (DC) High School, told D1Vision on Saturday that he plans on cutting his list of schools to seven or eight in the fall.

“I’m looking to get a great education and go to a school that’s going to push me to be a great person and player after college,” said Morsell on what he’s looking for in a school.

According to 247Sports, Morsell is ranked as the No. 192 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 1 player from the District of Columbia. He also mentioned that DePaul, Virginia, Oklahoma State, Georgetown, VCU, and Penn State are the six schools working the hardest for his recruitment. He broke down each school:

DePaul: “My relationship with the coaching staff is what appeals to me most.  I️ haven’t made it to the campus yet.”

Virginia: “Virginia is definitely up there on the list. I️ like the coaching staff, playing style, and campus.”

Oklahoma State: “Their main pitch has been me fitting into their playing style and their photo edits.”

Georgetown: “Basically the same thing as OSU. They believe I️ can come in and make a difference early.”

VCU: “The location and they believe I️ fit their playing style.”

Penn State: “I enjoy the culture they have and their playing style.”

Virginia was also among the schools working hardest for 2019 forward Jaiden Delaire, who spoke with D1Vision on Saturday.
