Kansas Sophomore Carlton Bragg Will Transfer to Arizona State

Kansas sophomore transfer Carlton Bragg Jr. has committed to Arizona State and head coach Bobby Hurley. Bragg will sit one season then have two years of eligibility remaining.

Bragg, who averaged 5.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 13.8 minutes last season for the Jayhawks, visited Arizona State earlier this week. Prior to his commitment Bragg was also considering Illinois and Cincinnati.

A source close to the situation stated Bragg was “interested in talking with Thad Matta and Ohio State.” That option never manifested.

In the end, Braggs relationship with Arizona State Assistant Coach Anthony Coleman played a large role in his decision.

“I have a good relationship with Anthony Coleman off the court,” Bragg said. “He’s been around the adidas Uprising and the AAU circuit and we just built a good relationship. When I found out I was transferring, I reached out to his program and I asked him for some advice and we just like took it on from there.”

Bragg is currently at home in Ohio but said he will report to ASU sometime in June.
