Butler Gets the Nod From Four-Star Aaron Thompson

Fairfax (VA) Paul VI Catholic High 2017 shooting guard Aaron Thompson told Scout he has verbally committed to the Butler Bulldogs.

“I think me and coach (Chris) Holtmann, we hit it off when I went out there,” Thompson told Evan Daniels. “Me and my family thought it was a good situation for me basketball wise and academic wise. If I get my degree from¬†there, it can open doors for me. I feel like they make it to the tournament every year and with the recruiting class coming it could be special class.”

Thompson backed out of a National Letter of Intent to Pittsburgh back in late April, opting to reopen his recruitment. He had recently visited Butler after an unofficial to George Mason.

The four-star shooting guard Thompson joins four-star wing Kyle Young as well as point guard Jerald Butler, shooting guard Christian David and point guard Cooper Neese as Butler’s fifth commit in the class of 2017.
